The way of teenager communication and its disadvantages

Communication in our days is a really important thing, because it has its great benefits like getting new information, meeting new friends and, of course it helps to develop our mental outlook. If we are talking about means of communication, it helps us to stay in touch all the time. But what can we say concerning the way of teenagers communication?
From my side I can say that in our time we may call our teenagers “generation of the Internet”.

There are many ways of communication such as the Internet, cell phones, landlines, personal communication. I give such order in order to show the most important (now it’s better to say vital) and less important ways of communication for teens. But what is the reason for such choice? As far as I’m concerned I can say that the Internet, for me personally, is a really big box with small drops of really important information.

Many psychologists tried to search for the reasons of courses which lead to such frequent usage of the Internet and the results were impressing for me. Teenagers, especially who are along, communicate via the Internet more often then others. They visit different chat rooms and try to find there somebody who is similar to them. And more often kids talk about their interests, while teenagers are talking about their life problems like relation issues, for example. In addition there are a variety of games in the Internet and I think that it is a really great problem for teens. Because while they are playing they may lose the feeling of time, the feeling of real time, they lose themselves in the virtual world and become addicted. As a result teenagers start to communicate with friends only while playing, and if it is an online game, then the main topic of communication is this game actually. And, unfortunately, most of our teenagers interested only in virtual communication and games. They even have forgotten what is a real book, not electronic one and sometimes it is even hard for them to read the whole book, because Internet give them opportunity to read a short variant.

So, finally, we have teenagers, who have no real friends, who quarrel with their parents all the time and always avoid walking in the open. They look like domestic flowers which you should water from time to time and make them do something.

In conclusion I want to say that we should make our teenagers interested in personal communication and all the time they should remember that personal communication and personal experience is better then Internet in all cases.
