English speaking countries

A few centuries ago Great Britain had very many colonies all over the world. As a result, English became an international language. English is used all over the world, and it also became the main language of some countries. The biggest English-speaking countries are: Great Britain, the USA, Canada and Australia.

I'd like to tell you something about them. The USA is 4th biggest country in the world. It is situated in North America. The climate is usually mild, but in Alaska winters are very cold and summers are cool. It is interesting to know that the USA is the biggest country in the world where only English is the main language. The USA is rich in natural resources, has many interesting places to visit, like the Capitol in Washington D.C. and Empire State Building in New York. This country is also very important - it takes part in solving different international problems.

Canada is 2nd biggest country in the world. It has 2 official languages - French and English. Canada is rich in natural resources, especially oil and wood. Canada has a moderate climate, but in the north there are cold and long winters and short summers. Canada is a big exporter of different things. Canada does not have many places to visit, but it is a good country to rest. Great Britain is a country where English appeared first.

Great Britain is situated in northern Europe. Great Britain is famous for its capital - London. London has many places to visit, for example, Picadilly circus or Buckingham palace. Great Britain has a mild climate - not cold winters and not hot summers. Australia is a large country. It is situated in eastern south. The climate is tropical: very hot and humid summers and warm winters. Australia is famous for its native people and strange fauna, like kangaroos and laughing kookaburras. It is interesting to know that Sydney is more famous than the capital - Canberra. There is a lot to see in Sydney - beautiful places.
